GYBA 2025–2026 Winter Basketball

GYBA 2025 – 2026 Winter Basketball
General Information
GYBA Parents and Players,
Welcome to another season of Golden Youth Basketball! GYBA is excited to begin preparing for the upcoming 2025–2026 Winter Season. This year, we’re again offering teams for boys and girls in grades 3 through 8.
For over three decades, GYBA has been providing young athletes within Golden and surrounding communities the opportunity to play youth basketball. The program continues to be powered entirely by volunteers — including the coaches, team managers, and league coordinators — and we are grateful for the support of this amazing community.
🏀 Program Overview
GYBA will be participating in the Jefferson County Youth Basketball Conference (aka JPS Winter Youth Basketball League). This is a competitive league composed of teams organized by high school areas across Jefferson County and the metro region (e.g., Golden, Green Mountain, Evergreen, Chatfield, Ralston Valley, Wheat Ridge, etc.). All levels of players are welcome.
GYBA also offers an advanced opportunity for 7th and 8th grade boys to try out for one of our Competitive High School Feeder Teams — a more intensive, invite-only program for players preparing to compete at the high school level (see details at the end of this message).
📋 Registration Timeline & Process
- Registration opens: Mid/Late August
- Registration closes: Early/Mid-September
Team Formation and Player Rostering
Please note, GYBA does not assign players to a team on a first-come, first-served basis. All players are initially placed on a waitlist while we secure gym space and confirm volunteer coach availability. Additionally, returning teams are allowed to stay together year to year, which also impacts roster formation.
➡️ See Team Formation Policy on the GYBA website for full details.
💲 Registration Cost
- 3rd & 4th Grade Teams: $325 per player + uniform cost
- 5th–8th Grade Standard Teams: $340 per player + uniform cost
- 7th–8th Grade Boys Feeder Teams: $625 + Gold Crown Winter Competitive League ($230/player) and potential additional tournaments and uniform costs
